well, just tried farming tombs (only terrorwebs and banished dream riders) using my sliver armor build, it doesn't affect me except with the time, it slows down the run by about 5 mins but I tend to be paitent when farming so I dont mind
I even just got my first ecto since the nerf ^_^ but too many people used SF to farm lots of ectos quickly, they wont go for the tombs "slow" approach...well not many people will at least

This really sucks, SF has been nerfed everywhere, so even the raptors are now a challenge. *Dusts off 55* O well, I hope the smites missed me.

Well the main thing Im pissed about is... you can't. Sorry, but the fact that you deal 50% less whilst under the effects of shadow form means that the raptors will have fun scattering before they "die", and they'll live and mock your dead body because [shadow form] ran out before you could kill them :P

I'll say again, but this is a very good change to SF as it does not rape SF's ability to be used as a defensive tool, which is what it is meant for.
Anyone whining about how it negatively impacts their ability to farm massive amounts of loot can shut up.

All I can say is after watching ANet wage war against Monks for the duration of Factions, it's nice to see another class get hit with a farming nerf (although mostly what I was upset about had more to do with pvp balance; I never was much of a farmer). Yeah, its blatant Schadenfreude, but I'm allowed to be bitter dammit

Meh, let them go. Let those people delete their sins. Anyone who plays a class just to farm won't be missed when they delete that character.
One of the many reasons I refuse to make a monk that isn't a PvP only monk.
I like my sin, had it for about a week and a half and it's fun in many ways.

For all those assassins who managed to acquire at least one stack this update is a godsend. I'm sitting on, well, quite a few ectos. So once prices go up, well time to get really rich.
I am not complaining, just saying there was no real way to avoid this problem. I still think Zkeys are the best farming/time period.

Defensive? this spell will never be definsive and never was. Who would use a spell that reduces your life to 40? For defense Feigned Neutrality will always be superior to this....

Yep this update destroyed SF I rather they put it back to 21secs I don't care about Perma I just want to be able to farm my raptors and my Elite Tomes, why did they F with the skill in the first place with out thinking about what would happen is Beyond me...............I am pissed and I have tried A/me and some of my runs are useless, because there's no way for me to trap the enemies in wide open areas and they run away from Degen.............they F over SF, and screw me thank you, you worthless dev.

SF is purely defensive. it always was. it enabled farming because the three skill perma sf machine gave you complete immunity to the mobs you were farming. thats defense. the rest of the bar was offensive.
about the 40 life when it ends thing...people avoid that, its not a factor in perma sf builds. even if they didn't keep it up permanently, how would the 40 life when it ends clause make the skill offensive rather than defensive?

Ah So A-Net now listens to Whiners Crying, about SF. Oh STop the assassin who have SF!! ITs un-fair Quit your whining we had the good build. Everyone has their own Type of FArming build it varies so honestly people who sat there and Whined Cheers ya Big Babies. And Congrats we can still farm and still plan on it. All i gotta do is sit there and farm the first level of Topks Dryders and i just did got 3 ecto's So My ectos arn't even affected GG A-net.

People complain about a lot of things in this game--suggesting ANet did what they did as a response to "crying" or "whining" is myopic and absurd. The reasons for the nerf are explained in the update notes and they make perfect sense if you ask me. Monks thought the sky was falling when ANet took a baseball bat to the 55--and lo, we still figured out ways to make money.
How anyone can defend SF is beyond me. It's the most blatant God Mode On Button I've ever seen in any game--except the immortal iddqd. But come on, SF was at least an idspispod, which is damn close. Had no place in the game the way it was, IMO. How it even made it out of playtesting without someone scratching their head and saying "this is a little ridiculous..." is beyond me.
